Places to Visit between Udaipur and Nathdwara

You have already reached Udaipur and planning to visit Nathdwara, a small and beautiful town located between the Aravali mountain range and on the banks of Banas River in Rajsamand district. A divine town that is hugely popular for the temple of Krishna. Nathdwara temple has a very rich and interesting history with the name titled Nathdwara as ‘Gateway to Shreenathji’.

Nathdwara is situated at a distance of around 50 km from the city of Udaipur and is among the most preferred destination for the local of Udaipur to visit during the weekend. While you travel from Udaipur to Nathdwara there are some beautiful spots which are perfect for next weekend escape.

Ranakpur

Located on a hilltop, Kumbhalgarh Fort houses a total of 360 temples and one of the top place for travellers to get a glimpse of Aravalli hills and the dunes of the Thar Desert.

Haldighati

Just a couple of minutes away from Udaipur, Haldighati is a mountain pass in the Aravalli mountain range of the Rajasthan state. So called by the Haldighati, this spot has turmeric-coloured yellow soil which got from the word ‘Haldi’ itself which means turmeric. The historic place of Haldighati is known for its Battle of Haldighati, which took place in 1576 between the Mewar kingdom and the Mughals. Here you can visit the Maharana Pratap National Memorial with statue of Maharana Pratap riding on his horse named Chetak.

The Maharana Pratap Memorial was constructed in 1997 and is one of the popular places to visit near Nathdwara. This memorial was constructed to honour the courage of Maharana Pratap Singh displayed in the Battle of Haldighati. The lovely statue of Maharana Pratap Singh rides his horse Chetak which can be visited from 9 AM to 6 PM with an entry fees of INR 20 and INR 10 per person for adults and children.

Charbhuja temple is a must-have in your list while visiting the Nathdwara. This divine place is a historical sanctum which was built in 1444 AD which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Charbhuja Temple is made of mirror works, lime mortars and marble which adds charm to the place. Not just that, you will find elephants created from stone standing on both sides of the entrance which adds beauty to the entrance. This is a divine place and visited but tons of devotees to seek the blessings of the Lord Vishnu.
