Location of Udaipur Solar Observatory
The Solar Observatory is located amidst of the Lake Fateh Sagar. While you are taking a stroll or sitting on the shore of the lake, you will find a dome shaped architecture in middle of the lake.
Why Udaipur Solar Observatory is Located in Middle of Lake Fateh Sagar?
We might wonder why Udaipur solar observatory is built in the middle of a lake but there is a reason to it. The scientists have chosen this spot due to a large volume of water. This is because a telescope placed over a ground, due to the surface heat it affects the quality of solar images. Whereas the telescope placed on a water reduces air mass and enhances the quality of images taken by telescope.
Not just that! Udaipur makes the most favorable destination for space exploration due to it’s all clear skies around the year except for the monsoon season.
What is the Best Time to Visit Udaipur Solar Observatory?
It is recommended and preferred to visit the Udaipur Solar Observatory during summer because the skies are clear and you will be able to see clear images.
